Nottinghamshire rider Cheryl wins Saphir clipper

Keen rider Cheryl Hempsall entered our competition to win a Saphir Horse clipper prize. Cheryl stables her horse Yorkie (short for Yorkie Pudding) near Ollerton in Nottinghamshire. Yorkie, a traditional Cob, is 14 years old and is ridden recreationally by Cheryl who also rides him out for pleasure and charity rides locally.

As a supporter of the North Air Ambulance, Cheryl, and Yorkie, have offered many rides to help raise funds and in our opinion the prize couldn’t have gone to a nicer pair.

Yorkie has a thick coat, as would be expected with a Cob, and needs regular clipping through the winter. As soon as Cheryl took delivery of her new Saphir clipper she set to work on his head and was really pleased with the result.

“I have used other brands before, but the Saphir is in a different class. It did a wonderful job on Yorkie, and I am sure I will make full use of it in the years to come,” said Cheryl. Not one to enter competitions, Cherly was somewhat surprised that she was the lucky winner. She admitted her thoughts at the time were “I’ll give it a go” and we are really pleased she did.

When not riding, Cheryl is a carer for family members but is also retraining to be a teaching assistant. We wish her all the best in her pursuits and hope that her new Saphir will be with her for many years.
